Dickinson County Endowment Fund Awards Special Project Grants: Okoboji Schools

In 2023, the Advisory Council awarded $123,751 to eighteen nonprofit applicants and also chose to make four Special Project Grants. All agreed that one way to continue our focus of ‘making broad impacts throughout the County’ would be to work with our schools. Each District was contacted to consider projects that would have direct student impact and submitted their unique ideas for funding.

Representing Okoboji Schools, Art Educators Leia Krueger and Laura Turner are pictured accepting a BIG check from Dawn Matthews, Annie Wasson, Marilyn Voss and Evan Bensley, DCEF Advisory Council members. Okoboji will use their $2500 grant to help enhance Art Education in the Elementary, Middle and High School buildings. The project will introduce students to digital art tools and software and give them opportunities to create digital artwork and explore graphic design.

Year after year the Dickinson County Endowment Fund Advisory Council and staff are inspired by the passion for ‘continual improvement’ shown by our nonprofits and school districts!
Thank you for your efforts!
